At the moment I am a little taken up with sketching. I have had a little think about what I enjoy doing most and what fits in best with our rather chaotic unroutine life and I think drawing and making up embroideries are my preferred activities.
so I'm thinking that from now I will be producing more embroidery patterns and drawings and less products (phone cases, glasses cases, purses etc.) I won't stop the products completely but I'll probably make a few at a time occasionally.
something else I'm interested in trying out is embroidery art framed in hoops. and that's what I think I'll be focussing on this week. This way I can make more one off items (which is what I enjoy most).
I still have paper dolls in my head but I think they will be a while as I need to research all about printing and that means technology type stuff which does my head in ever so slightly!
I have been busy with lots of sketching and a big ole tidy up in my work space. It's so tidy now I can't work in it anymore! I need someone to mess it up a bit for me.
I've also been working on some stitched pictures, I have mother's day in my mind so hopefully I won't forget my own mum!
I'm just waiting for some mounting papers to arrive before I can list these
x

ReplyDeleteI thinks it's always good to stop sometimes and work out what you enjoy the most as this is inevitably going to be your strongest work.I'm so pleased you're concentrating on the hoop art as your work is perfect for it and your new sketches are gorgeous as ever(especially the little one hugging the tree!)Cassandra xx
